not being afraid

this is harder than it seems--
i'm met with seams
(not well-sewn)
in dreams of floating
boats,
and their colors
i can't place
in a rainbow
and their faces
i can't place
in my hand
in my home
in my little book of
drawings, of people i'll never
meet, of plants that'll never 
grow, and their seeds will rot
in the dreams, 
in the seams,
in the pillows,
(not well-sewn)
in the colors of
not being afraid
