Lay Down to Die

As we lay down to die
And the world slows down,

Why is it then
That we chose to be wise
And say our goodbye’s
And express our love
To those we never really spoke to before?

We should realize
That although the skies
Are not always clear
We should hold on
To those who are dear
To us.

While we have the time
To smile or cry
Let the world know
That if we are to die
We can die and know
That the world will be sorry
To see us go.
